Sophie scarf crochet pattern:
Row 1: Ch 200 (or any number to reach the length of the chain about 140-145 cm). Sl st in the back ridge of the 2nd ch from the hook and in each back ridge across. Stop when 6 chains remain unworked. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sl st in blo of each st across. Stop when 6 sts remain unworked. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sl st in the back loop only of each st across. Stop 6 sts before the turning point of the previous row (leaving 12 sts unworked on this side). Turn.
Subsequent Rows: Continue repeating the pattern (Ch 1, sl st blo), stopping 6 sts before the previous turning point on each row. Continue until the scarf reaches the desired width (approx. 6 cm) and the turning points are aligned on both sides.

Joining Row 1: Ch 1, sl st in the back loop only across to the first short-row join.
Join: Insert the hook into the horizontal bar (the ch 1 from the previous row), then insert the hook into the back loop of the next unworked st. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
Continue sl st blo to the next short-row join and repeat the Join.
At the final 6 sts (foundation chain), insert the hook into the horizontal bar, then into the back ridge of the chain. Yarn over and pull through all loops. Sl st in the back ridge to the end. Turn.

Joining Row 2: Ch 1, sl st in the back loop only of each st across to the first short-row join on the opposite side. Perform the Join (horizontal bar + back loop) at each short-row join across to the end of the row.
Finishing:
Optional: Work one additional row of sl st blo to smooth the final edge.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
