Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

SC – single crochet

st(s) – stich(es)

Beginner-level cord crochet pattern:

Row 1: Chain 4. SC in 2^nd ch from hook, and in each ch across. (3 sc). Turn.

Row 2: Ch1, 3 SC in first st, 2 SC in 2^nd st, SC in 3^rd stitch. Turn.

Row 3: Ch1, 3 SC in first st, 2 SC in 2^nd st, SC in 3^rd stitch. Leave other stitches unworked. Turn.

Repeat Row 3 until desired cord’s length.
