Crochet Spiral Hot Pad Pattern

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 3.75 mm (F-5)

<> Caron Simply Soft (4) – 100% acrylic: 170 grams -288 m per skein.

Color A – blue

Color B – white

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US Terminology):

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

Two-color crochet spiral hot pad pattern:

Round 1: With color A make an adjustable ring. 5 sc in ring, pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>With color B, sl st in ring, 5sc in ring. Pull the working loop and remove the hook. Pull tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Replace hook into A loop. With color A.  2 dc in each B stitch – 10 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>Replace hook into B loop. With color B, 2 dc in next 5 A sts – 10 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.

Round 3: Replace hook into A loop. With color A 2 dc in next 10 B sts – 20 sts, Pull the working loop and remove the hook.  <> Replace hook into B loop. With color B, 2 dc in next 10 A sts – 20 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.

Round 4: Replace hook into A loop. With color A [2dc, dc, dc] – repeat 6 times, 2 dc, dc – 27 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.  <> Replace hook into B loop. With color B [2dc, dc, dc] – repeat 6 times, 2 dc, dc – 27 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.

Round 5: Replace hook into A loop. With color A hdc, sc in each B stitch. Sl st in the last B st.  Cut A color thread.  <> Replace hook into B loop. With color B, hdc, [sc, sl st] – in each st around. Sl st in the very last stitch.  Cut B color yarn.

Weave in ends.
