Crochet Soft House Slippers Pattern

Crochet soft slippers size:

Size: US 7 – 7.5 (24 – 24.5 cm). The size can be easily adjusted by crocheting the toe and heel sections slightly longer or shorter.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

HDC – half double crochet

DC – double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

Yo – yarn over

st(s) – stitch(es)

Soft house slippers crochet pattern:

Round 1: Work into a magic ring — Ch 3 (Count it as a DC, or begin with a chainless foundation DC as shown in the video tutorial), 8 DC. Join with a sl st to the top of the starting DC or to the top of ch-3. (9)

Round 2: Ch 3 (or chainless foundation DC), DC into the same st as a join, 2 DC in each st around. Join. (18)

Round 3: Ch 3 (or chainless foundation DC), DC into the same st as a join, DC in next st, [ 2 DC in next st, DC in next st] – repeat around. Join. (27)

Round 4: Ch 1. Insert the hook into the same stitch as a join and pull up a long loop (2 loops on the hook), insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (3 loops on the hook), then insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (4 loops on the hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, ch 1.

[ Insert the hook into the last stitch you worked in the previous step, pull up a long loop (2 loops on the hook), insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (3 loops on the hook), then insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (4 loops on the hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, ch 1] – repeat around. Skip the first stitch, then join with a slip stitch into the first ch-1. (13 clusters)

Round 5: Ch 1. Insert the hook into the same stitch as a join and pull up a long loop (2 loops on the hook), insert the hook between next 2 clusters – pull up a long loop (3 loops on the hook), then insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (4 loops on the hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, ch 1.

[ Insert the hook into the last stitch you worked in the previous step, pull up a long loop (2 loops on the hook), insert the hook between next 2 clusters – pull up a long loop (3 loops on the hook), then insert the hook into the next st – pull up a long loop (4 loops on the hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, ch 1] – repeat around. 

When you finish the round and count your clusters, you will have 12 in total. Now we are going to add one more cluster.

Last cluster: Insert the hook into the last stitch you worked in the previous step, pull up a long loop (2 loops on the hook), insert the hook between last and first clusters – pull up a long loop (3 loops on the hook), then insert the hook into the 1st ch-1 – pull up a long loop (4 loops on the hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, ch 1. Skip the first stitch, then join with a slip stitch into the first ch-1. (13 clusters)

Rounds 6 -17: Repeat Round  5.

Work additional rounds if needed, repeating until the slipper reaches the heel (Work rounds until the slipper reaches the instep opening). For US size 7–7.5, the length is approximately 17 cm (6.7 in).

Work the heel section:

Row 1: Ch 2, HDC into the same st as a join. HDC in next 20 sts. Turn. (21)

Row 2: Ch 2, HDC in each st across. (21)

Row 3-8: Repeat Row 2.  Repeat Row 2 until the heel is nearly covered.

Cut the yarn, leaving a 25–30 cm tail. Turn the slipper so the wrong side is facing out, align the heel edges, and sew the seam. Insert the needle through the outer loops on each side and continue along the entire seam. 

Work around the instep opening: 

Turn the slipper right side out. 

Round 1: Join a new tail, and work SC evenly around the entire slipper opening. Join with sl st at the end of the round. 

Row 2: Ch 1, SC into the same stitch as join, SC in each st around. Join.

Row 3: Ch 1,  work a crab stitch (reverse single crochet) in each stitch around. Join at the end.

Weave in all yarn ends.
