Crochet Ribbed Neck Warmer Pattern
Pattern Sections
Are you getting cold even when others are not? Then maybe you are a cold-natured person like me, wearing socks during the Summer and having six layers of cloth during the Winter. One of the things that really help me feel warmer from late Autumn to early Spring is a neck warmer (cowl). I tend to give it a preference over a classic scarf due to its compact size, and the ability to customize its width and height to hide my nose into it :). A crochet ribbed neck warmer has been my go-to winter accessory for a while now, it’s been thoroughly tested and will protect you from the brisk cold winter air. However, the functional properties of a ribbed neck warmer are not the only reasons you should crochet it, the aesthetic look of the neck warmer makes it a fashionable accessory you can be proud of.

Ribbed neck warmer crochet pattern:
Ch 52. The chain must measure now about 33-34 cm. Chain more if needed.
Row 1: Starting in the second loop from hook, 51 hdc (crocheting into the back bump of chain).
If you want a smooth edge to prepare two stitch markers to help yourself at the beginning.
Row 2: Ch2. Place stitch marker in the first chain from hook, hdc blo in 4th stitch from hook, hdc blo in each stitch across. Turn (50 sts)
Row 3: Ch2. Place stitch marker in the first chain from hook, hdc blo in 4th stitch from hook, hdc blo in each stitch across. The last hdc will be in the chain with a stitch marker. Turn (50 sts)
Row 4: Ch2. Place stitch marker in the first chain from hook, hdc blo in 4th stitch from hook, hdc blo in each stitch across. The last hdc will be in the chain with a stitch marker. Turn (50 sts)
Repeat Row 4 or until the length of the cowl reaches 60-61 cm. Work flat into a rectangle.
The cowl is ready. Now we are going to join the ends of the work with slip stitches. Looking at your work, you can see chains at the top of each side. Pick up the front loop of the nearest chain and then pick up the back loop of the chain that is further from you, pull the yarn through 2 loops and the original loop on the hook (make a slip stitch). Continue working through the front and back loops to get a nice, neat-looking right side of the work.
Weave in ends. Check out crochet fingerless hand warmers and ear warmer tutorials for the full set.
Hello. Is there only one row of hdc blo? I am several rows in and am not seeing ribbing?
