Crochet Ribbed Newborn Baby Hat Pattern

If you are on a scout for a baby ribbed hat that can be easily adjusted for any size, then this pattern is for you. I have included the formula on how to increase or decrease the size of the ribbed hat to get the right fit for your baby. If you are in doubt regarding the calculations, please leave a comment and I’d be happy to help you with it. Ribbed hats, in general, are fast to make, and this one is no exception to the rule. You can finish the project in one evening, including the yarn poms. Don’t forget to use a baby yarn and let’s get started!

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet Hook 3.75 mm;

<> Knit Picks, Simply Wool (Bulky) – 100% eco wool. 100 grams -193 yards;

<> Yarn needle.

Crochet ribbed baby hat size and calculations:

Baby: 40 – 42 cm.

Hat’s height – 14 + 5 (brim) = 19 cm

Gauge: 20 sts – 4 inches (10 cm) or 1 cm = 2 sts

The size can be easily adjusted using next calculations:

19 cm * 2 sts= 38 sts

Head circumference: 40 cm. To get the finished hat size measurement, subtract 2-3 cm – 38 cm.
