Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

SC– single crochet

SC inc – single crochet increase: two SC stitches in the next stitch

SC2tog – single crochet two together: insert hook into the indicated stitch, yo and pull up a loop (you have 2 loops on your hook). Insert hook in next stitch, yo and pull up a loop (you have 3 loops on your hook now). Yo and pull through all three loops on your hook.

HDC – half double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

yo – yarn over

DC – double crochet
