Crochet S-Shaped Ornament Pattern (Bi-Colored)

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 4 mm (G-6)

<> Caron Simply Soft (4) – 100% acrylic: 170 grams -288 m per skein.

Color A – pink

Color B – white

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US Terminology):

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

Two-colored spiral ornament pattern:

First spiral:

Round 1: With color A make an adjustable ring. [Sc, hdc, 2dc] in ring, pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>With color B, sl st in ring, [Sc, hdc, 2dc] in ring. Pull tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Continue with color B.  2 dc in each A stitch – 8 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>Replace hook into A loop. With color A, 2 dc in each B stitch – 24 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.

Round 3: Replace hook into B loop. With color B 2 dc in next 15 A sts, dc, hdc, sc, sl st. Cut B color.  Replace hook into A loop. With color A, 2 dc in next 3 B sts.    Pull the working loop and cut the yarn leaving short tail.

Second spiral:

Round 1: With color A make an adjustable ring. [Sc, hdc, 2dc] in ring, pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>With color B, sl st in ring, [Sc, hdc, 2dc] in ring. Pull tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Continue with color B.  2 dc in each A stitch – 8 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook. <>Replace hook into A loop. With color A, 2 dc in each B stitch – 24 sts. Pull the working loop and remove the hook.

Round 3: Replace hook into B loop. With color B 2 dc in next 15 A sts, Cut B color.  Replace hook into A loop. With color A, 2 dc in next 3 B sts.  Pull the working loop and cut the yarn leaving short tail.

To get an s-shaped ornament, join two spirals together using those short tails that we left over. Check video tutorial if you find this moment difficult.
