Crochet Coaster Pattern with Decor Hearts

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 3.5 mm

<> Caron, Simply Soft (4) –100% acrylic, 288 meter per 170 grams skein or any other type of yarn. Color A: white, color B: pink

Crochet coaster size:

Diameter: 15 cm (6”)

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

yo – yarn over

dc – double crochet

hdc – half double crochet

tr – treble crochet

Crochet coaster pattern with decor hearts on the edge:

Starting with color A (white): Make a magic ring. Ch 2, 12 DC inside magic ring, join to first DC. Cut the yarn.

Attach pink color.

Round 2: ch1, 2SC into the same stitch and in each stitch around. Join to first SC. (24 SC). Cut the yarn.

Change to white color.

Round 3: ch2, *DC in first stitch, 2DC in next stitch, repeat from *around. Join. (36 DC). Cut the yarn.

Change to pink color.

Round 4: ch1, *SC in the next 2 stitches, 2SC in next stitch, repeat from *around. Join. (48 SC). Cut the yarn.

Change to white color.

Round 5: ch2, *DC in the next 3 stitches, 2DC in next stitch, repeat from *around. Join. (60 DC).  Do not cut the yarn.

Round 6: ch2, DC in the next 5 stitches, 2HDC in the next stitch, ch3. Rotate the coaster ninety degrees to the right and work around the second HDC. 2 TR, 2 DC, 1 HDC. Rotate the coaster again ninety degrees to the right and make 2 DC in the same stitch where 2 HDC are coming from, but from back to front. Rotate the coaster again to the right and work around the first HDC. 1 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, ch3, and join with sl st. Do not cut the yarn and hold it along the edge.

Change to pink color.

Ch1. DC in the next 5 stitches, 2HDC in the next stitch, ch3. Rotate the coaster ninety degrees to the right and work around the second HDC. 2 TR, 2 DC, 1 HDC. Rotate the coaster again ninety degrees to the right and make 2 DC in the same stitch where 2 HDC are coming from, but from back to front. Rotate the coaster again to the right and work around the first HDC. 1 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, ch3, and join with sl st. Do not cut the yarn and hold it along the edge.

Change to white color.

Repeat everything from the beginning. (12 hearts in total)

Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
