Crochet Christmas Star Pattern

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

MR – magic ring

Beg – beginning

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

DC – double crochet

Sp – space

st– stitch

sl st – slip stitch

Christmas star crochet pattern:

Round 1: MR: ch3 (count as DC), 2 DC, ch 4, 3 DC, ch 4, 3DC, ch 4, 3 DC, ch 4, 3 DC, ch 4, sl st to top of starting ch 3. (15 DC)

Round 2: ch 1, skip next st, SC in next st, 4 SC in ch-4 sp, ch 1, sl st underneath 2 loops of last sc (picot stitch), 3 SC into same ch-4 sp, * SC in next st, skip next st, SC in next st, 4 SC in ch-4 sp, ch 1, sl st underneath 2 loops of last sc, 3 SC into same ch-4 sp – repeat from * 4 times. Join.

If you want to form a loop to hang your ornament, ch 8 instead of ch1 in picot stitch.
