Crochet Triple-Layer Flower Pattern

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 2.25 mm 

<> Knit it, Super Soft Yarn –100% acrylic. 120 grams -324 m per skein.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

SC – single crochet

TR – treble crochet

sl st – slip stitch

DC – double crochet

st(s) – stich(es)

Triple-layer flower crochet pattern:

Flower diameter 7 cm (3 in)

Chain 7. Join with a sl st into the first chain to form a ring.

Round 1: ch 1, 12 SC into the ring. Join with sl st to 1st SC.

Round 2 (first layer): ch 1, SC into the same stitch as join, *ch 1, 3 DC in next st, ch 1, SC in next st – repeat from * 5 times, ch 1, 3 DC in next st. Join to sl st of previous round. Pull the working loop from front to back under the 1st SC. 

Round 3: Then turn your flower over so the back is showing. Sl st into the loop of the first SC on the back of the petal. Ch 4, sl st into the loop of the next SC on the back of the petal. Continue this all the way around behind each petal until you have 6 ch-4 spaces. Sl st into the beginning sl st.

Round 4 (second layer):  *work in ch-4 sp: ch 2, 5 DC, ch2, join with sl st to sl st from previous round. Repeat from * in each ch-4 sp around. Sl st into the previous sl st.

Round 5 (border): ch 1, *sl st in next 2 chs, sl st in back loop only in next 5 sts, sl st in next 2 chs, sl st to sl st from previous round, repeat from * across each petal. Sl st into the previous sl st. Pull the working loop from front to back under the 1st SC. 

Round 6: turn your flower over so the back is showing. Sl st into the loop of the first sl st on the back of the petal. Ch 6, sl st into the loop of the next sl st on the back of the petal. Continue this process all the way around behind each petal until you have 6 ch-6 spaces. Finally, sl st into the beginning sl st.

Round 7 (third layer): *work in ch-6 sp: ch 2, 7 TR, ch2, sl st to sl st from previous round. Repeat from * in each ch-6 sp around. Join with sl st into the previous sl st.

Round 8 (border): ch 1, *sl st in next 2 chs, sl st in back loop only in next 7 sts, sl st in next 2 chs, sl st to sl st from previous round, repeat from * across each petal. Join.

Feel free to stop after the first or second layer. You can also skip rounds with borders.

Use the yarn needle to weave in the ends.
