Full Length with cord: 32 cm (12.5”)
Length without cord: 23 cm (9”)

Pq st: piquet stitch – Ch 3, join under both loops of the last stitch with a sl st.
DC – double crochet

Triangular lace bookmark crochet pattern:
Chain 41, or any number multiple of 4 plus 1 extra chain. For example, 45 or 49.
Round 1: Ch 1, SC in 2nd ch from hook, [Ch 5, SC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in next ch, DC in next ch, TR in next ch, skip next 3 ch along the main foundation chain, SC in next ch] – repeat 10 times. Ch 2, SC into the last ch again. Turn to work along the opposite side of the foundation chain: [Ch 5, SC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in next ch, DC in next ch, TR in next ch, skip next 3 ch along the main foundation chain, SC in next ch] – repeat 10 times. Ch 2, joint with sl st to the 1st SC.
Round 2: This round starts at the top of the first triangle. Sl st in the next 5 sts until you reach the top of the triangle. SC in the first SC of the triangle, [ch 4, SC in the first SC of the next triangle] – repeat 9 times. Ch 4, DC in the TR of the last triangle, ch 4, [TR, ch 4, TR] in the ch-2 sp, ch 4, DC in the TR of the first triangle on the opposite side of the chain, ch 4, SC in the first SC of the same first triangle, [ch 4, SC in the first SC of the next triangle] – repeat 9 times. Ch 4, DC in the TR of the last triangle, ch 4, [TR, ch 4, TR] in the ch-2 sp, ch 4, DC in the TR of the very first triangle, ch 4, join with a sl st to the first SC.
Round 3: [(SC, HDC, 2DC, HDC, SC) – in ch -4 sp] – repeat 11 times.
[SC, HDC, DC, pq st, DC, HDC, SC] – into the central ch-4 sp.
[(SC, HDC, 2DC, HDC, SC) – in ch -4 sp] – repeat 13 times.
[SC, HDC, DC, ch 2, DC, HDC, SC] – into the central ch-4 sp on the opposite end.
[(SC, HDC, 2DC, HDC, SC) – in ch -4 sp] – twice. Join with sl st to 1st SC.
Additional instructions:
Do not forget to iron your bookmark.
For the twisted cord, cut a 120 cm (47”) strand of yarn and fold it in half twice. Pull the yarn through the ch-2 space of Round 3. Twist both ends in opposite directions until tightly wound. Then, bring the ends together, hold them in one hand, lift the bookmark, and let it twist naturally.
The cord will twist upon itself. Tie the yarn ends together in a knot, leaving a 2.5 cm (1″) tail.
Trim the ends slightly for a neat finish, and you’re done!
