Crochet Christmas Star Snowflake Pattern

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 4.5 mm 

<> Caron, Simply Soft –100% acrylic. To make the star points rigid, crochet using 2 or 3 strands of yarn held together. Alternatively, use medium-weight 100% cotton yarn for a firmer structure.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

SC – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

DC – double crochet

st(s) – stitch(es)

Christmas star snowflake crochet pattern:

Row 1: Make a magic ring: Ch 3 (count as DC), 11 DC. Sl st to top of starting chain 3. (12 sts)

Row 2: [Ch 6, sl st into the 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, skip next st, sl st in next st] – repeat 6 times for the 6 star points. Join to the 1st ch of the beg ch-6 using a yarn needle and a seamless join. 

Optionally, you can  add a hanger to display the star on your Christmas tree.
