Crochet Basic Cherry Leaf Pattern

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 5 mm (H-8)

<> Caron Simply Soft (4) –100% acrylic.

Crochet leaf size:

6-7 cm without stem.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US terminology):

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

Crochet cherry leaf pattern:

Ch 11. Insert your hook into the 3^rd ch from the hook. Sc, hdc, 2 dc in the next, tr, 2tr in the next, tr, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, thenk [SC, ch1, SC] in the last chain. Continue on the other side of chain, hdc, 2dc in the next, tr, 2tr in the next, tr, 2 dc in the next, hdc, sc in the last st. At this point you can cut the yarn if you do not want the leaf with a stem and stalk.

For the leaf with the stem, ch1, sl st in the next st, and now insert the hook in the center of your leaf, yarn over and pull through the leaf and the loop on the hook, continue working the slip stitches all the way up the center of the leaf. At the end ch 4. Fasten off and weave in ends.
