Crochet Cable Headband Pattern

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook H-8 US (5 mm)

<> Any medium worsted weight yarn.

<> 1 Button (3 cm)

Crochet cable headband size:

Gauge: 16-17 stitches = 4 inches in the main pattern

Width: 9 cm (3.5”)

Length:47 cm (18”)

Head circumference: 54-57 cm

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

hdc – half double crochet

sc – single crochet

hdcb – half double crochet back loop only

Crochet headband pattern:

Chain 11.

To make the edge look neat crochet into the back ridge of chain.

Row 1: 1 hdc in 2^nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each of next 9 ch, turn.

From the next Row and go on, we are going to crochet all stitches through the back loops only.

Row 2: ch1, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, ch15, sl st under the front side of 5^th hdcb, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, turn.

Row 3: ch1, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, 15 sc inside 15 chain loop, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 st, turn.

Row 4: ch1, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, ch15, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, turn.

Row 5: ch1, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 hdc, 15 sc inside 15 chain loop, 1 hdcb in each of next 5 st, turn.

Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until headband reaches desired length.

Headband assembly:

Starting from the right side. Form a cable by *dragging the second loop through the first one, repeat from * still the very last loop. Sew the button and use the last loop to close the headband.  Ta-dam, your headband is ready.
