Crochet Lace Heart Coaster Pattern for St. Valentines Day

Crochet tools and materials:

Diameter: 15 cm (6”)

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

SC – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

DC – double crochet

HDC – half double crochet

Lace heart coaster crochet pattern:

Chain 6 and then join to the back ridge of the first chain to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch 3, 4 DC into the ring.

Row 2: Ch 3, work 3 DC in the space between last 2 double crochet from the previous row. Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 4DC (work in between DC and ch3).

Row 3: Ch 3, work 3 DC in the space between last 2 double crochet from the previous row. Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 3 DC, skip next 3 sts and work 4DC in next space.

Row 4: Ch 3, work 3 DC in the space between last 2 double crochet from the previous row. [Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 3 DC] – twice. Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 4DC.

Row 5: Ch 3, work 3 DC in the space between last 2 double crochet from the previous row. [Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 3 DC] – repeat 3 times. Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 4DC.

Row 6: Ch 3, skip next 4 sts and work into the next space 3 DC. [Skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 3 DC] – repeat 3 times. Skip next 3 sts and work DC in between DC and ch3.

Row 7:  ch 3, skip next 3 sts and work into the next space 3 DC, ch3, skip next 3 sts and work SC into the next space, ch3, skip next 3 sts and work 3 DC into the next space, ch 3, sl st into last DC.

Edge: Ch1, 3 SC in each space around the whole heart (around ch3 and DC). When you reach the bottom of the heart, make 6 DC into the ring. Sl st to 1^st SC to join.

Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
