Crochet Baby Booties (Socks) Pattern

Crochet tools and materials:
Crochet hook 4 mm
Gazzal, Baby wool XL 40% Lana Merino, 20% Cashmere Pa, 40% acrylic. 50 grams -100 m per skein.
Weight Category – 4 or 3 (Medium or Light or DK). Quantity – 55-70 grams. If you have difficulty to find aforementioned brand of yarn, use something else that will have about 200 m (210 yards) per 100 grams skein.
Stitch marker, yarn needle.
Crochet baby booties size:
Gauge: 22 stitches = 10 cm (4 inches);
17 rows = 10 cm (4 inches).
Size: 0-3 months.
Foot length: 8 cm.
Number of chains: 42.
Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sl st blo – slip stitch, back loop only
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
sc3tog blo – insert the hook into the first stitch thought the back loop, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on your hook), insert the hook into the next stitch and right away into the third stitch (same through the back loop), yarn over and pull up a loop (three loops on your hook), yarn over and pull through all three loops on the hook.
Baby booties crochet pattern:
Leave a tail of at least 20 cm, we are going to use it to close the toe. Chain 42 plus one extra ch.
Row 1: sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each chain across, turn. (42 sts)
Row 2: ch 1, 42 sl st blo. Turn.
Make sure to keep the slip stitch loose, so it will be easier to stitch into them next row.
Row 3: ch 1, 40 sl st blo. Leave 2 stitches unworked. In Row 3, for all sizes, count 25 sts and place stitch marker (in 25th st). Turn.
Row 4: ch 1, 14 sl st blo, remove stitch marker, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 23 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 5: ch 1, 22 sl st blo, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 11/15/19 sl st blo. Turn. Leave 2 stitches unworked.
Row 6: ch 1, 10 sl st blo, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 21 sl st blo. Turn,
Row 7: 20 sl st blo, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 13/17/21 sl st blo. Work in 2 unworked stitches of Row 5 and 2 sts of Row 3. Turn.
Row 8: ch1, 12 sl st blo, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 19 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 9: ch 1, 18 sl st blo, sc3tog blo, place stitch marker in top of sc3tog, 11/15/19 sl st blo. Turn.
Rows 10-12: ch 1, 30 sl st blo. Turn. Do not remove the stitch marker from the previous row. Even though there are no decreases in this row, move the stitch marker up to the top of the next stitch for each subsequent row.
Row 13: ch1, 26 sl st blo. Leave 4 stitches unworked. Turn.
Row 14: ch1, 26 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 15: ch 1, 28 sl st blo. Work in 2 unworked stitches of Row 13. Turn.
Row 16: ch 1, 28 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 17: ch 1, 30 sl st blo. Work in the other 2 unworked stitches of Row 13. Turn.
Rows 18-20: ch 1, 30 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 21: ch 1, 28 sl st blo. Leave 2 stitches unworked. Turn.
Row 22: ch 1, 28 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 23: ch 1, 26 sl st blo. Leave 2 stitches unworked. Turn.
Row 24: ch 1, 26 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 25: ch 1, 30 sl st blo. Work in 2 unworked sts of Row 23 and 2 sts of Row 21. Turn.
Rows 26-27: ch 1, 30 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 28: ch 1, 11 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), place stitch marker back into the central sc, 18 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 29: ch 1, 19 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), place stitch marker back into the central sc, 12 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 30: ch 1, 13 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), place stitch marker back into the central sc, 20 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 31: ch 1, 21 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), place stitch marker back into the central sc, 10 sl st blo. Turn. Leave 4 stitches unworked. Turn.
Row 32: ch 1, 11 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), place stitch marker back into the central sc, 22 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 33: ch 1, 23 sl st blo, 3 SC in stitch with stitch marker (work sc underneath both loops), 14 sl st blo. Work in 2 unworked sts of Row 31. Turn.
Row 34: ch 1, 40 sl st blo. Turn.
Row 35: ch 1, 42 sl st blo. Work in the other 2 unworked sts of Row 31. Turn.
Fold the sock so the tail we left at the beginning is in front. Insert the hook underneath the chain of the first row of the fabric that is closest to you and through the back loop on the other side. Yarn over and pull it through both loops and the loop on the hook. Slip stitch these two edges together until reaching the very end. Cut the yarn and weave it in the end.
Now take the yarn needle, thread the tail we left and close the sock’s toe.
Repeat for the second sock.
