Crochet mosaic maze granny square pattern:
Color A
Start with a magic ring.
Round 1: in magic ring: 8 SC.
To join, pull the working loop to make it a little bit longer. Remove the hook from the working loop, insert the hook from back to front through the first SC, pick up the working loop, and pull it through the first SC. Use this joining method for all subsequent rounds.
Round 2: Color B: pull new color through the working loop.Ch 1.
When you start a new Round, crochet the 1st stitch while holding the previous color along the edge. Stop carrying the previous color along the edge when you start crocheting the second and all subsequent stitches.
2 SC blo in 1st stitch (in the same stitch as join), SC blo in next st,
[3 SC blo in next st, SC blo in next st] – repeat 3 times, SC blo in the same stitch as the first 2 SC. Join to the 1st SC.

Continue crocheting to increase the square, remembering to make MDC every 3 sts or in front of the MDC from the previous round.
