Crochet Christmas headband pattern:
For the headband, I decided to use an elastic foundation chain:
Using red color, ch 2. Insert the hook into the second ch from the hook, draw up a loop, yarn over, and pull through only one loop. Then yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook.
*Turn the chain to the left side and insert the hook into the loop (under both loops) close to where the working yarn is sticking out. Draw up a loop, yarn over, and pull through only one loop. Then yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook.
Repeat from * until the foundation chain reaches 47-48 cm. The exact stitch count and end stitches don’t need to be precise.
Join with sl st to the first stitch to form a circle.
Round 1: ch 1, SC in each st around. Join with sl st to the 1st SC.
Round 2: Ch 1, SC in the same st as the join, SC in each st around. Join with sl st to the 1st SC.
Repeat Round 2 four more times, or continue until the headband reaches your desired width.
Cut the yarn and join invisibly using a yarn needle. Weave in the end securely to finish.
Bow: Ch 31. Join with sl st to the first stitch to form a circle.
Round 1: ch 1, SC in each st around. Join with sl st to the 1st SC.
Round 2: Ch 1, SC in the same st as the join, SC in each st around. Join with sl st to the 1st SC.
Repeat Round 2 seven more times. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of at least 1.5 meters, and join the end invisibly using a yarn needle. Shape the piece to form the bow, then wrap the long tail around the center, neatly positioning each strand close to the next. Locate the seam on the headband and sew the bow securely over it.
