Tape lace crochet pattern for beginners:

Chain 10. Join with sl st in 1st ch to form a circle. Ch 3, *yo, insert the hook into the circle and draw up a long loop – repeat from * 6 times, yo and pull through all 13 loops on your hook, ch 1.

**Yarn over the hook three times, insert the hook into the circle and draw up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops – repeat from ** 7 times. When you have 8 loops on your hook [yo pull through 2 loops] – 7 times. Turn.

***Ch 3, yo, insert the hook between puff stitch and first incomplete double treble crochet and draw up a long loop – repeat from * 6 times, yo and pull through all 13 loops on your hook, ch 1.

**Yarn over hook three times, insert the hook around ch3 (initial ch3 of previous puff stitch) and draw up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through 2 loops – repeat from ** 7 times. When you have 8 loops on your hook [yo pull through 2 loops] – 7 times. Turn.

Repeat from *** until you reach desired lace length.
