Ribbed turtleneck dickey crochet pattern:
Ch 41. The chain must measure about 28 cm (11 in).
Row 1: ch 1, sl st in the second loop from hook, sl st in next 23 ch. yo slst in next 7 ch, HDC in next 10 ch. Turn (41 sts)
Row 2: ch 2, HDC BL in next 10 sts, yo slst BL in next 7 sts, sl st BL in next 24 sts. Turn (41 sts)
Row 3: ch 1, sl st BL in next 24 sts, yo slst BL in next 7 sts, HDC BL in next 10 sts. Turn (41 sts)
Repeat Rows 2-3 until the dickey reaches the desired width. My width is 33 cm. Because the neck ribbing is too stretchy, I decided to make the width equal to my neck circumference. In case you do not have the right person near to try your dickey, you can find neck circumference measurements online.
Fold the dickey wrong side out. I decided that the right side would be the one with v-stitches that resemble knitting and is not upside down. After completing the last row of your dickey pattern, Ch 1 to begin the seaming process. To seam the dickey, insert your crochet hook through the back loop of one side and the loop of the first foundation chain on the other side. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all loops present on the hook, forming a single crochet stitch. Repeat this seaming technique, single crocheting across the edges of the dickey until reaching the end, ensuring a secure and neat seam. Secure the loose ends.
