Crochet materials and tools:

Crochet Hook 5 mm 

Loops&Threads, Soft & Shiny (4) – 100% acrylic. Crochet this holding 2 strands together, or just substitute a bulky-weight yarn.

Crochet Tele-tubby hat size:

Size: 53-58 cm (22-23 in)

Gauge: 13-14 sts – 10 cm (4 in)

ch – chain

SC – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

Tele-tubby hat crochet pattern:

Round 1: Magic ring: 8 SC. Join with sl st to the 1st SC. (8)

Rounds 2-5: Ch 1, SC into the same st as join and in each st around. Join with sl st to the 1st SC. (8) After joining, always work your first stitch into the same stitch you joined into.

Round 6: Ch 1, [SC in next st, 2 SC in next st] – repeat around. Join. (12)

Round 7: Ch 1, SC in each st around. Join. (12)

Round 8: Ch 1, 2 SC in each st around. Join. (24)

Round 9: Ch 1, SC in each st around. Join. (24)

Round 10: Ch 1, [SC in next st, 2 SC in next st] – repeat around. Join. (36)

Measure the diameter of the hat’s crown at this point. For an adult size, it should be around 17–17.5 cm (6.7 in). Add more increase rounds if needed.

Repeat Round 17 until the hat reaches 22 cm (about 8.5–9 inches) from the antenna.

For the very last round, switch to another color (black in my case) and work  one SC in each stitch around. Weave in all ends.
