Crochet Waffle Hat Pattern for Men

Crochet waffle men’s hat size:

Head circumference: 53-57 cm

Gauge: 16 sts – 10 cm (4 in)

DC2tog – double crochet two together: Yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull through (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull through (4 loops on hook), yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

SC – single crochet

SC blo – single crochet back loop only

Row 1: Ch 19, SC in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn. (18).

Row 2: Ch 1, SC blo in each stitch across, turn. (18) To reduce stretch at the hat’s edge, work the last SC through both loops.

Row 3: Ch 1, SC blo in each stitch across, turn. (18) Work the last SC through both loops.

The ribbing width is 12.5 cm.

Repeat Row 3 until the ribbing reaches 42 cm (16.5 inches) or the desired length.

Join the last row and the first one: 

Fold the ribbing so that the edge with the foundation chain is facing you.

Pull the last loop through the first stitch of the foundation chain. Place the working yarn under this loop (inside the ribbing).

Round 3: ch 3.

*Yarn over, insert the hook around the post of the next stitch (for FPDC), yarn over, and pull through (3 loops on hook).

Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops (2 loops on hook).
