Row 7: Ch 1, SC BLO in the next 5 sts. Leave one stitch unworked. (5)

Row 8: no ch 1 needed here. Work into the 1st stitch from the hook. SC BLO in the next 5 sts.  Now, we will work the 2 unworked stitches left in Row 2. To make a smooth transition between rows: Insert the hook into the ch-1 space from Row 7 and Row 3 and then into the back loop of the first unworked stitch in Row 2. Yarn over and pull through three loops on the hook. Yarn over again and complete the SC. Work sl st into the remaining  stitch of Row 2. Turn.

Repeat the pattern from Row 1 to Row 8 four more times to create the remaining star points.

Note for all other points:
For Row 1, the instructions will differ slightly: Ch 1, SC BLO in the next 6 sts. Turn.

Finishing the Star:

    1. Cut the yarn, leaving a 20 cm tail. If you are making a star pillow, leave a longer tail for seaming.
    2. Using a tapestry needle, close the center of the star by picking up stitches around the center. Pull the yarn tight to close the hole.
    3. Use the mattress stitch to join the first and last rows of the star, creating an invisible seam.

For the Star Pillow:

    1. Repeat the pattern to make a second star piece.
    2. Place the two pieces together with the wrong sides touching.
    3. Stitch the pieces together, moving the needle back and forth through matching stitches on both sides. Ensure all stitches align for a neat finish.
    4. Stuff the star with fiberfill as you work, and finish seaming the edges.
    5. If desired, crochet a hanger for the star to display it.
