Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):
ch – chain
DC blo – double crochet back loop only
sl st – slip stitch
sl st blo – slip stitch back loop only
st(s) – stitch(es)
Nautical lace stitch crochet pattern:
Chain any odd number of stitches, then add 1 extra ch.
Row 1: sl st into the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
Row 2: Start with ch 3 + 1 (ch 3 counts as DC), or use a chainless foundation double crochet (see video tutorial).
Ch 1, skip next stitch, DC blo in next st, *ch 1, skip next st, DC blo in next stitch; repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sl st blo in each stitch across. Turn.
Row 4: Same as Row 2.
Repeat Rows 3-4 to continue the pattern.
