Crochet body of the lace scarf:
Ch 45. (multiple of 4 plus 1 extra ch). The chain now measures about 24 cm. Chain more if needed.

Row 4: ch 5, * bptr around next 2 tr of the previous row, ch 2, fptr around next 2 tr of the previous row, ch 2 – repeat from *. bptr around the next 2 tr of the previous row, ch2, DC in ch-5 space. Turn.
Row 5: ch 5, *fptr around next 2 tr of the previous row, ch 2, bptr around next 2 tr of the previous row, ch 2 – repeat from*. fptr around the next 2 tr of the previous row, ch2, DC in ch-5 space. Turn.
Repeat Rows 2-5 until the scarf reaches the desired length. 100-120 cm will be enough. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Make decor fringes:
Cut yarn into lengths approximately 31 cm (12 in) each, ensuring you have five strands per fringe. Attach the fringe evenly along each ch-2 space. Trim the ends of the fringe to ensure they look neat and straight.
This looks like a very lovely scarf. It would be helpful, however, if the weight of the yarn was included (I had to Google “Smooth DK, King Cole” to find the weight) and also how much (aprox) yardage is needed so we know how much to buy.
– Thanks!
Hi Suze, I have used Smooth DK, King Cole. It is DK but you may use lighter yarn. For the scarf you will need 2 – 2.5 skeins
