Color A – brown or black
Color B – yellow

SC– single crochet
SC blo– single crochet back loop only
sl st – slip stitch
DC – double crochet
TR – treble crochet

Sunflower head crochet pattern:
With color A (sunflower seeds/center):
Round 1: Make a magic ring. Ch 1, 6 SC into the ring. (6) Do not join and continue crocheting in a continuous spiral.
Round 2: [ 2 SC blo in next st] – repeat around. (12) Tip: Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round to keep track.
Round 3: [SC blo in next st, 2 SC blo in next st] – repeat around. (18)
Round 4: [SC blo in next 2 sts, 2 SC blo in next st] – repeat around. Join with sl st to 1st SC. (24) Cut the yarn.
Join color B (sunflower petals).
Round 5: ch3 (count as DC). Work into the same stitch as join [DC, 2 TR, ch 3, sl st into the top of the 2nd TR to form a picot, 2 TR, 2 DC], skip next st, SC in next st, skip next st,
*[2 DC, 2 TR, ch 3, sl st into the top of the 2nd TR to form a picot, 2 TR, 2 DC], skip next st, SC in next st, skip next st, repeat from * 5 times. Join into the bottom of ch3.
