Newborn baby socks crochet pattern:

Round 1: Make a magic ring, work 6 SC into the ring. Do not join; continue working in continuous rounds, using a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round. (6)

Round 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12)

Round 3: [2 SC in next st, SC in next st] – repeat around. (18)

Round 4: SC in each st around. (18)

Round 5: [2 SC in next st, SC in next two sts] – repeat around. (24)

Rounds 6-14: SC in each st around. (24)

At this point, the sock measures 5.5–6 cm. Add more rounds if needed.

Calculate the length of the sock toe part:

  1. First, take the total number of stitches you have after increases and divide it by two.
  2. The number you get tells you how many rows you will need for the heel.
  3. Once you know the number of rows, you can calculate the length of the heel part.
  4. Now, measure the total length of the foot. Subtract the heel length from this number.
  5. The result will show you how long the toe section should be — this is the part of the sock you crochet straight, without any increases or decreases.

Crochet the heel:

Turn your work to begin the first row of the heel on the wrong side. Turn your work counterclockwise so that the working yarn is in front.

Row 1 (WS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 11 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 2 (RS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 10 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 3 (WS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 9 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 4 (RS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 8 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 5 (WS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 7 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 6 (RS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 6 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 7 (WS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 5 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 8 (RS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 4 sts. Turn counterclockwise.

Row 9 (WS): No ch 1 needed. Skip the 1st stitch, SC in next 3 sts. Turn counterclockwise.
