Crochet materials and tools:

Crochet Hook 2.5 mm; 

Sirdar, Pure Cotton (DK) – 100% cotton. 100 grams – 100 meters per skein. Quantity: 20 grams.

Crochet lace headband size:

Head Circumference: This headband is adjustable to fit any size. Simply increase or decrease the number of chains to make it a multiple of 6, then add 1 extra chain.

Width: 7 cm (2.75 in)

Length (without ties): 31 cm (12.5 in)

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches (US):

ch – chain

st(s) – stitch(es)

sl st – slip stitch

TR – treble crochet 

SC – single crochet

sp – space

3 tr cl: 3-treble crochet cluster – *Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. Repeat from * 2 more times in the same stitch, leaving the last loop of each tr on the hook (you will have 4 loops on the hook at the end). Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.

pc st: picot stitch  – After completing a single crochet, ch 2, then sl st into the top of the single crochet by inserting the hook under the last two loops of the stitch.

Lace headband crochet pattern:

Ch 49.

Round 1: Ch 4. 3 tr cl into the 5th ch. *Skip 5, [3 tr cl, ch 7, 3 tr cl] – in the next ch. Repeat from * 8 more times. Skip 5, [3 tr cl, ch 4, SC, Ch 4, 3 tr cl] – into the last ch. 

Turn your work and continue crocheting along the other side of the foundation chain.  

*Skip 5, [3 tr cl, ch 7, 3 tr cl] – in the next ch. Repeat from * 8 more times. Skip 5, [3 tr cl, ch 4, sl st] – into the 1st chain. 

Continue crocheting the ties. Chain until the tie measures 20–25 cm. Working back, slip stitch in each chain until you return to the body of the headband.

Round 2: **3 SC in ch-4 sp, SC in next st,  *[4 SC, pc st, 3 SC] – in ch-7 sp. Repeat from * 8 more times. SC in next st, 3 SC in ch-4 sp.  Sl st into the central SC and continue crocheting the tie. Repeat from **.

Cut the yarn and weave in all ends. If you used cotton yarn like I did, gently press the headband with an iron to neaten the stitches and give it a more polished, elegant finish.
