Frosty charm beanie crochet pattern:
Beanie’s ribbing:
Row 1: Ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (7).
Row 2: ch1, sl st blo in each st across, turn (7).
Repeat Row 2 until the ribbing reaches desired length. My ribbing measures 37 cm (14.5 in).
Join the last row and the first one:
Ch 1, *insert the hook into the back loop of the last row (closest to you) and into the corresponding chain of the first row on the opposite side, yarn over, and pull through all loops on the hook. Repeat from * to the end.
Turn the ribbing right side out. Begin working into the ends of the slip stitch rows along the ribbing edge. Ch 1, make 1 HDC in the same stitch, then HDC into each row around the ribbing, ensuring the final number of stitches is even. Join with sl st to the 1st HDC.
Round 1: ch 1, 2 HDC in the same stitch as join, skip next stitch. [2 HDC in next st, Skip next st] – repeat around. Do not join; continue working in a spiral from this point.
Round 2 : Work 2 HDC stitches between the 1st and 2nd HDC of the previous round. Continue to work 2 HDC in the space between each pair of HDC stitches around. Do not join; continue working in a spiral.
Repeat Rounds 2 until the hat measures 19-20 cm (7.5 in).
Shaping beanie’s crown:
Round 1: *Yarn over, insert the hook into the space before the first pair of HDC (the gap between them), draw up a loop. Yarn over again, insert the hook between the two HDC stitches, draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops on the hook. Repeat from * around.
Round 2 : HDC2tog around.
Cut the yarn, leaving a 15-20 cm tail. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and pass it through each stitch of the last round. Pull tight to close the opening. Weave in the ends securely. Add a yarn or fur pompom on top for finishing.
