Go on adding HDC in every row until your triangle reaches the desired height of the tree. Do not cut the yarn.
Crochet the edging (tree branch texture):
Starting at the bottom of the right corner, work up along the first side of the triangle, creating small “branch bumps.”
Along the first side, repeat: ch3, sl st — continue this repeat evenly spaced until you reach the top corner.
In the top corner work: sl st, ch 4, sl st back into the same space.
Continue down the second side of the triangle, repeating:
ch3, sl st, evenly spaced to the bottom corner.
Bottom of the tree: work through the front loop only, repeating across: ch1, sl st.

Crochet trunk of the tree (Color B):
Attach yarn into the 3rd stitch of the bottom edge, working through the back loop.
Row 1: SC in next 5 sts, turn.
Rows 2–3: Ch 1, SC in next 5 sts, turn.
Fasten off.
Crochet the star:
Magic ring: 5 SC. Join to the 1st SC.
Ch1, sl st into the same st as the join, [sl st to the next st, ch 1, sl st back into the same space] – repeat this sequence 4 times. (5 star points in total). Join. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail to sew the star to the top of your tree.
