Crochet Basic Two-Color Mittens Pattern

Crochet Hook 4.5 mm – main mitten; 5 mm – ribbed cuff
Impeccable, Loop & Threads (4) – 100% acrylic. 127.5 grams – 260 meters per skein.
Color A – brown, Color B – beige. Yarn Needed: 60 grams.
Yarn needle, 4 stitch markers.
Crochet two-color mittens size:
Gauge: 16 sts = 4 inches
Size: Fits an average adult woman’s hand.

Basic two-color mittens crochet pattern:
Crochet mittens pocket:
Color A: use a 4.5 mm crochet hook.
Round 1: Form a magic ring, ch 3, 10 DC into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the first DC. (10)
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 DC into the same st as join, 2 DC in each st around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first DC. (20)
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 DC into the same st as join, DC in next 3 sts, [2 DC in next st, DC in next 3 sts] – repeat around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first DC. (25)
Rounds 4-11: ch 3, DC in each st around. Join. (25)
The mitten at this point measures 13 cm (5.1 in). Work more or fewer rounds until the mitten reaches the thumb gusset.
Round 12 (thumb opening): Ch1, SC into the same st as join, SC in next 12 sts, ch 10 (loosely), SC in next 12 sts. Join.
Round 13: ch 3, DC into the same st as join, DC in next 10 sts, DC2tog, DC2tog (in the first 2 chs), DC in next 6 chs, DC2tog (in the last 2 chs), DC2tog, DC in next 10 sts. Join. (31)
Round 14: ch 3, DC into the same st as join, DC in next 10 sts, DC2tog, DC in next 6 sts, DC2tog, DC in next 10 sts. Join. (29)
Rounds 15 -16: ch 3, DC in each st around. Join. (29) Cut the yarn.

Crochet the thumb section:
Round 1: Leaving a 15–20 cm tail, attach the yarn to the first chain left for the thumb opening. Ch 3 (count as DC), DC in next 9 sts. Join to the top of starting ch-3. (10) Use the yarn tail left to close the small hole.
Rounds 2-4: Ch 3, DC into the same st as join, DC in each st around. Join. (10)
Round 5: Ch 2, DC in next st, [DC2tog] – 4 times. Join. Cut the yarn. Using a yarn needle, pick up the front loops of the remaining stitches and close the thumb hole.
Crochet the ribbed cuff:
Color B: use a 5 mm crochet hook.
Row 1: Ch 9, sl st in each back ridge of the chain. Turn. (8)
Row 2: Ch 1, sl st blo in each st. (8)
Repeat Row 2 until ribbing reaches 15-15.5 cm (6 in)
Cut the yarn leaving a 50 -60 cm tail. Using a yarn needle, join the ribbing: Fold the ribbing so that the working yarn is closer to you. Insert the needle through the front loop on one side and the corresponding loop on the other side. Sew to join the ribbing.

Mitten assembly:
Using stitch markers, attach the ribbing to the mitten as shown in the picture. With the same yarn tail, insert the yarn needle through the back loop of a mitten stitch and then through the corresponding bar of the ribbing. Continue this way to join the ribbing to the mitten.
Weave in all ends.
